Mr Darko IV
. Mr Darko, 4th Dan, started his training in February 1985 in Tooting under late Master Sangah (8th Dan), a 3rd Dan at the time. After three years of rigorous training and overcoming an injury that almost ended his study and practice in martial arts, Mr Darko gained his 1st degree black belt.
This was only the beginning of a new journey of development, practice and training for Mr Darko as he rose through the ranks of the student body at the Tooting Dojang and became assistant instructor in 1990. By this time, he had a ained his 2nd degree black belt (EE Dan) and had represented his school at tournaments at national and international levels. To name a few, Mr Darko competed in the world championship open, hosted by the TAGB in Leicester back in 1991. At the national level, he participated twice to the BTC (British Taekwondo Council) black belt championships, winning the bronze medal at one of the championships.
Those who have trained with Mr Darko for many years would happily talk about some of the great demonstration done by him at competitions where he has done flying kicks over a car to break a board.
Around the time Mr Darko obtained his 1st degree black belt, the BUTF (British United Taekwon-Do Federation) formed and has since moulded high level instructors that now teach around Great Britain, not to mention parts of Asia and Australia. Mr Darko is a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor who has trained many students in both Tooting and Clapham Taekwon-Do Schools from the inception of the BUTF.
Mr Darko lived in the United States for 16 years, where he carried on with his practice. He participated in some local competitions, in Hyde Park, New York (a Tang Soo Do competition), and in Atlanta.
After returning to the UK, he gained his 4th Dan, and has opened the Norwood Taekwon-Do School.
