Mr Majithia IV
Mr Majithia commenced his training in August 1995 under Grandmaster (Sasung) Manning, then a 5th Degree black belt. Mr Majithia fell in love with the martial art from his first lesson. As a colour belt Mr Majithia thrived on the pragmatic elements of Taekwondo, entering tournaments and competing at any available opportunity. In 1999 Mr Majithia attained his black belt, and in September 2018 was promoted to 4th degree, a key milestone in his Taekwondo career.
In the early years of training and as a young boy, Mr Majithia thoroughly enjoyed the competitive aspects of Taekwondo. He was inspired by his Instructor, Sasung Manning and fellow students at the Harrow Taekwondo club. Here he was continuously encouraged and pushed to reach his full potential, not only in the martial art but in life as a whole. His early years of training involved competing nationally and internationally whenever possible.
He realised his training truly began in 1999 however, after he attained in black belt under the late Grandmaster Choy. He continued to compete, now in the black belt adult divisions while also qualifying as a instructor with the BUTF. Soon after, Mr Majithia left for University. He continued to train, visiting Mr Puma at his club in Bath when he could. After his studies, Mr Majithia returned back to his home club, Harrow.
Over the years life brought many challenges, however he always managed to overcome any obstacle and continued progressing, and not just in Taekwondo. Even today he believes a primary reason for this is the foundation his Instructor, Sasung Manning has laid for him. This has enabled him to continue progressing in Taekwondo, professionally and personally, always coming out the other end of any challenge stronger.
Mr Majithia strongly believes that while Taekwondo is fundamentally a self-defence martial art, if taken up in the right way can take one much further in life than they ever imagined. Sasung Manning remains a role model and mentor for him and looks forward to passing on his knowledge and experience to his daughter and students in the way it was passed to him.
